We encourage the maintenance of commercial buildings.

We hold an annual Downtown Spring Garden Cleanup where volunteers tidy up Central Park by pulling weeds and performing other maintenance to make the park look nice. We plant trees, shrubs, and flowers.

We foster public painting projects.

We promote plogging, which is cleaning up litter while one walks or jogs.

We partner with the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department on landscaping projects such as city entrance signs and efforts to control graffiti.

We present the Rose Award to homeowners and businesses that display a high level of landscaping or architectural appeal.

About our Programs

Rose Award

The Fairfield Beautification Commission has established the Rose Award to recognize Fairfield city residents who have improved or maintained their yard, dwelling or business and created a positive aesthetic appeal.  The award is intended to inspire others to take pride in their property and to improve the overall quality of life in Fairfield.

FBC members will act as judges to select the winner of the Rose Award. The final decision will be based on evidence of the contribution to Fairfield's community appeal.

Winners of the award will receive a sign to display in their yard or window as well as a Rose Award certificate signed by our mayor.
